LITTLE NICHOLAS
Laurent Tirard's feature film remains faithful to the characters and the early-1960s setting imagined by René Goscinny and illustrated by Sempé. We find mischievous little Nicholas (François-Xavier Demaison), his parents (Kad Merad and Valerie Lemercier) and his best friends: Alceste who never stops eating; Eudes who is always punching people; Geoffrey with the rich father; and Agnan, the teacher’s pet and best student in the class. And there is also Marie-Edwidge, whom Nicholas hopes to one day marry.Wild Bunch co-founder Vincent Maraval talks about the film's reception in Eastern Europe and in England, United States, Spain and Italy.Randall Koral, NESPRESSO's special correspondent at the Cannes film festival, will file his report on Little Nicholas in the "Cannes Daily" section of this site May 21st at 11 a.m. CET.LITTLE NICHOLASDirected by: Laurent TIRARDCast: Kad Merad, Valérie Lemercier, François-Xavier DemaisonBelow is the schedule for "Un Autre Regard" on the Cannes Film Festival, from May 13th through May 24th, at 6 p.m. CET :May 20 / Bancs PublicsMay 21 / Enter the VoidMay 21 / Time That RemainsMay 23 / Coco Chanel and Igor Stravinsky
