MATALI CRASSET
industrial designer by training
Matali Crasset is an industrial designer by training. Just like one of her emblematic objects, the column of hospitality "when Jim goes up to Paris", she establishes her own methodology which questions the certainty of codes governing our everyday lives in order to better free herself up and experiment. She thus develops new typologies formulated around principles such as modularity, suitability, flexibility and networking. Her work, which emerged during the 1990’s as a refusal of pure form, is viewed as research in motion, based more on assumptions than principles. She works with eclectic universes, from the craft industry to electronic music, from the textile industry to equitable (fair) trade. Her creations have thus led her to areas that she could not have imagined, from scenography to furniture, from graphics to interior architecture.matali crasset grew up in a small village in northern France, on a farm where work and life were intimately intertwined.Clients : Aquamass, Aprifel/Interfel, Artemide, BHV, Comité Colbert, Cosmit, Cristal Saint Louis, Danese, Decotec, Deknudt Decora, De Vecchi, Domeau & Pérès, Domestic, Domodinamica, Dornbracht, Dune, Drugstore Publicis, Erreti, Enkidoo, Exquise, Fabrica, Felice Rossi, Forges de Laguiole, Grimaldi Forum , Guy Degrenne, Exquise Design, Hermès,Hi Hotel, Laser, Le Printemps, Lexon, L’Oréal, Orangina, Pierre Hermé, Pitti Immagine, Première Vision Le salon, Hélène Darroze Restaurant, San Lorenzo, Seb/Tefal,Swarosvki, Sodebo, Tarkett Bâtiment, Tendence, Top Mouton, Thomson Multimédia, Who’s next…http://www.matalicrasset.com
