The French Art of Exquisite Cooking

Nespresso’s partnership in exquisite gastronomy continues to flourish with the "Concours National de Cuisine Artistique", now in its fifth year. This year’s CNCA event took place April 1-2 in Paris. After five-and-a-half hours of competition, the CNCA jury led by Joël Robuchon awarded top honors to Philippe Mille, the 34-year-old “chef adjoint” from the Meurice hotel’s restaurant in Paris. Mille will go on to represent France in the Bocuse d’Or Europe contest July 1-2 in Stavanger, Norway, and in the Bocuse d’Or World Cuisine Contest in Lyon next January. “I’ve always been involved with cooking,” Mille told the press a few months before his victory. “My grandmother, who made her pots-au-feu on an old wooden stove, taught me to love good ingredients. I wanted to become a chef to rediscover the smells of her kitchen.”
